on friday, initially my hard disk enclosure goes kaput; and on the same day, my graphics card decided to show some artifacts even in boot up sequence. what a horrendous sight to see. my last card to show artifacts was aeons ago, back in the days of riva tnt days. oh well, time for a new card.

quickly did some research and off i went to simlim square. seems like the card i was looking for was sold out. hunted high and low for it, and gave up. decided to go for xfx gtx260 instead. quantity left isn’t much, so i’d jus grab what i can find.

now the pc is running smoothly again! the card comes with a coupon to download batman:aa via steam. can’t wait to see the game again in full max settings! previously on my old 8800gts, i was running it on near max, except for anti-aliasing at 2x. i believe this time i could get it up to 16xQ!

btw, recently played eagles: hell freezes over dts dvd on my av receiver. the sound is freaking super! even on my not-calibrated-by-professional speakers. shall be looking for more high quality stuffs to stress test the home theatre.
