i've got jap exams again tomorrow. this time, it's the last of the entire intermediate level. sigh, while i hope to get good marks, i found myself not able to absorb whatever i studied. what's worse, i couldn't remember anything whenever i tried to apply it! is my age catching up or i need catching up on sleep?

明日また試験があるよ。最後の INT 4 試験だ。何とか、日本語は学ぶのが難しくないけど、ちゃんとおぼえていない。まったく！

this year, the only difference was we drove our new car back home! my jb’s home already had 3 cars; my dad’s jeep, his old benz and my old iswara.

on jb roads, fit/jazz were hardly seen (or it could be the cny holidays where people go back to their hometowns). driving the fit on jb road were a bit scary due to the fact it’s a sg plate. people would look. filling up petrol in jb is cheap! the tank left half and i went to fill up to full tank on the day i return to sg. it was about 20l, cost me RM36, which is equiv to $15!

recently, i’ve been browsing some local forum on fit/jazz cars. i’m very tempted to add a spoiler and most likely change the stock springs. when i read further, seems that changing coilovers are “better” than changing springs alone. springs, car lowered-look; coilovers, lowered-look plus improved handling and shocks. in either case, the aesthetics of the car would improve slightly especially the gap between the tyres and the fenders. did a quick photoshop on the fit to see how it looks like. top: stock springs’ height, approx 6 fingers gap. bottom: preferred height 2-finger gap. =\ i’m poisoned.

the process took about an hour as the agent went through with me the basic operations of the car, documents; as well as some basic checking here and there. signed the handover and off i went to pick mc up! fortunately her office was nearby the showroom.

EDIT: so far, seems like only the older generation of fit/jazz are being recalled.

yea i know, i gotta buck up and what not. but truth be told, although having a dedicated japanese learning software on my iphone (it’s also a flash-card software plus a dictionary plus a walking phrasebook!) learning a language somewhat still requires human interaction. it might jus be my excuse, but i really feel handicapped without someone to practice the language with.

nevertheless, i shall carry on till the term is over and might consider taking a short break.

btw, the wait for the car to be ready is agonizing.. @_@

the ride was sorta smooth, despite i could hear the engine on a straight road at 90k. revving it makes it even more audible. not a big issue for me though as i’m used to hearing the engine sound on my proton iswara manual.

the interior is somewhat lacking but what could we ask for? it’s a lower end sedan.
the SE offered free leather seats + solar film + car spa package if we take up their G model at $57,888.
verdict: 6.5/10

in the end, we walked away and went to another dealer. this time, we went to see the honda fit. negotiations went well, and eventually booked one! estimated delivery to be mid feb as the car is already in the port. colours wasn’t much of a choice (we wanted ready stocks) as we were left with brilliant sky or black. hence we went ahead with brilliant sky. yup, it’s the same colour as greg’s fit! >,<

after 3 generations with the 4th coming soon, it’s finally in my hands. =D

last sat, we went out with greg and gin on an impromptu visit to automobile megamart. we were looking for a car, presumably vios or fit until we were introduced honda insight hybrid. totally captivated by the interior as well as the exterior, i couldn’t bring myself to leave the driver’s seat. soft turn on the smart key knob and the engine starts silently.

does anyone know if honda’s insight hybrid is worth considering?
