was introduced to the gran turismo series when i was at greg’s house during poly days. back then i was already amazed by the level of details with each car, be it graphically or controls.
come next month, gran turismo 5 will be released on the streets! with all the excitement and whatnot, bumped into several videos from youtube. check out the dynamic weather system, newly introduced in this 5th instalment.
i was blown away.

watched a blue film avatar: special edition 3d at gv max on sat evening. i didn’t catch the first screening. didn’t know about the hype until i got hold of a bluray copy and watched it at home.
gv max made a boo boo when they screened cats and dogs in 3d for us to watch. lol. people walked out of the cinema, some discussed what happened. for us, we jus enjoyed the show for a full 10 minutes plus before the management stopped it.
so what’s so special about the special edition of avatar? a mere 8 mins never-before-seen footage was added into the show. as mc pointed out, probably those scenes were edited out during the first screening. haha! somehow, the 8 mins made the film flow smoother and covered some aspects on the pandora. the 3d effect however, wasn’t to our expectations. sure, it was nice seeing it on the big screen, but i think disneyland’s 3d theatre were much better. maybe it’s jus me. =p but it’s not any director who can pull out a stunt like this re-releasing the same film with just additional 8 minutes.
been busy these days with final fantasy 13. i’m running into the 28th hour of the game and it’s still far from completion. if you’ve got a ps3 and want to look for a long game with gorgeous full-hd graphics plus subtly melodramatic dts soundtrack, GO GET THIS GAME!
Learn Moreshooting your colleagues was fun. more so when there’s 15 others to choose from. 19 peeps joined the fray, some chickened out but i can understand. 4 teams of 5 except for the last group which only have 4.
the team i was in was not bad at all, team C consists of 2 females and 3 males. we came in second place although i could have swore we were that itsy bitsy close. the gameplay, each team would need to shoot down 2 targets in the opposite field. after completing that, we would need to collect a box located right in the middle of the field in between the shootout. bringing back the box to the base would conclude the game.
we played: (in teams)
round 1
A vs B : draw game
C vs D : C won
round 2
B vs C : C won
A vs D : D won
finals
C vs D (again) : draw game
after the tie, all of us not having much ammo left, we changed the objective to just collect the box. i was left with 8 paintballs, which i guessed none of them hit anyone. the opponents concentrated on closing in and bring back the box. lol. naturally we ran and grabbed our box as well, but i guess team D did a better job and won the game.
among the funny scenes during the event: (sorry no pics but you can imagine it)
- a colleague was seen rolling from barrel to barrel to avoid paintballs.
- one of the company directors’ were so tall in build that he literally absorbs most of the paintballs. in the last game against our team, i saw him doing the crawl on the muddy ground to collect the box. his team mate claimed that he also shot him in the back of his head when he just ran in front without looking.
- a female colleague was hiding on the “sniper tower”. she was so short that we can’t even see her head nor the gun! she peeked through some small holes and occasionally pulled trigger.
- the entire team was hanging around the “safety hut” (the place where you need to ‘respawn’ after being shot). according to them, they were taking too much firepower and didn’t dare to come out. LOL
- some colleagues got headshot. one of them smacked right in the face. he couldn’t see where he was walking. heh
- another company director crashed into a barrier while making the run for the box. i think he hurt his knee.
that’s all i can think of for now. the ache gonna be kicking in tomorrow.
