Learn Moreso.. yea, i did it. despite amidst rising coe and expensive insurance and the fact that my current Fittie is still under a year old, i got myself new rides.
it was a worldwide launch, nov 24th 2010. i couldn’t help myself but kept thinking about it. perhaps it was the anticipation welling up at the bottom of my gut ever since i first saw the sexy pictures in a press statement sometime ago. thus, i went to the mart, signed for it and went home with it! yep, immediate collection and without a test drive! after the initial setup, i’m all geared up and good to go!
sitting in the comfort of my own home, driving is so much fun! i mean never mind about bucket seats, but to be able to drive supercars one after another is simply shiok la! yep, i’m talking about the all hyped up gran turismo 5 for ps3. i’m not gonna write some review for the game, there’s plenty enough websites garnering attention from its popularity already. however, the driving simulator experience is certainly true. if only i have room and cash for an actual cockpit to mount my steering wheel.
Learn Moreyea, i’m still high from the mini upgrade done to our Fittie™ (that’s the name of our car =p). as advised by greg, we went full on ahead with shell 98 and monitored the usage for a full tank. it was a whopping 14k/ltr!! a whole new level compared to the previous 10+k to 12k/ltr. shiokness.
apart from the orgasmic efficient fuel consumption, i’ve been pretty busy with my japanese. in less than a month’s time, i will be taking the jlpt n4 exams. and i’m still not PREPARED! holy cow. but anyway, i’m trying my best although the schedule always lean towards grabbing the ps3 gamepad. >,<
on a random note, it seems a lot of things/brands etc are going facebook, iphones, ipads. development for these webpages are a pain in the ass. it was almost like making a webpage back in the 90s for ie4?
Learn Moreour fit has been always been feeling draggy and reluctant to climb slopes ever since the key had been handed to us. not to mention that it seems to take sometime from 0 – 60.
been reading a lot about the car’s poor low end performance and there was nothing much that can be done to improve the situation except to get a larger-capacity engine. after all, it’s just a 1.3 and what more can we expect? nevertheless, some owners suggested to change cold air intake, add grounding and what not.
not familiar with these kinda thing, i began to read more and came across throttle bodies. this particular guy have his own garage right at his car porch and its somewhat his “freelance” business; he offered machine bored throttle bodies for various car models and makes. he claims to have installed over 500+ throttle bodies and mostly were jazz/fit cars. with added testimonials from many people in the forums, it’s not difficult to be tempted to give it a try.
so last friday, we went to this guy’s home-garage and very quickly, he (eddie) took out the battery, opened the air filter box and changed it to a washable type for me and took out the current throttle body. he placed it on the floor next to the new throttle body and immediately i noticed the slightly larger diameter with a new butterfly-plate. cool.
he plugged it in and proceeded with explaining a lot on the throttle body and the new air filter. seeing it was time to do the e.o. servicing, i let him do it for me as well. he saw how dirty the engine bay is and proceeded with clean it for me f.o.c.
he turned on the engine and let the ecu relearn the new throttle body as well as the new e.o. after everything is sort of done, he drove us around in our car to demo to us on how we can gain more boost on a cvt. just barely out of his house, i can already feel the car having more power. shiok.
he told me that it’s our turn to go for a spin with the new mod while he stayed to clean hsi garage. we then drove to the nearby kranji mrt to withdraw some money. the car was practically cruising most of the time without the need to keep on stepping on the accelerator!
when we returned to pay him, we asked a few more stuffs on coilovers and brakes. he literally invited us to sit in his car, a jazz GD fully modded inside out and roaring to go. he was using hks coilovers which costs around $3k+ for a set and the settings was tuned for track racing. on the normal roads. i could feel most of the humps and bumps but the stability is definitely there. his car barely rolled while he did a quick corner on a tight road. totally awesome! i’ve always wanted to “audition” on some of the modified jazz/fits that surfaced in the local fjc forums. though his car was a bit extreme for me, i just wanted find out how hard was it on coilovers.
over the weekend, i had the opportunity to drive on the north-south highway in jb. indeed, getting to 0-100 now is definitely easier than before, plus this time we can freely depress and let it cruise when we reached our desired speed.
this is definitely a worthy investment for me as i only wanted improve the car’s performance without hurting the wallet.
Learn Morefirst of all, congrats to gin and greg on being promoted to mummy and daddy! they’re at KK ward 81, bed 2 just next to the nurse counter. they will go home tomorrow noon, so today’s the only chance to catch them at kk.
recently there has been sort of an influx of babies. jus a week ago, we heard from a friend that they’re gonna be parents in a month’s time. then a poly friend just gave birth to a baby girl in hk. and my colleague also just gave birth to a boy last sun.
