short trip to langkawi and kl

langkawi was fun. a simple three-lettered word couldn’t describe the experience we had on that some 45k populated island.

day 1: arrived at the resort rather late at 5pm, we drove around in a rented car; the infamous proton wira 1.5A); stumbled upon a port-cum-resort named the awana porto malai resort. later we went for a short stroll at the beach and caught a fantastic sight of the horizon. people were parasailing, playing jet-ski or riding the banana boat.

day 2: woke up early to catch the sunrise but we realised we were on the wrong side of the island. after breakfast, we went to the cable-car station at the oriental village. each gondolas to the middle station where you have the option to either continue to the topmost station or alight here. the journey between the base station and the middle station is the longer route where we spotted some butterflies, eagles as well as the usual tropical rainforest beneath us and the well-known 7 wells waterfalls. after the exhilarating ride to the top station, we continued to the shaky suspension bridge. not that it isn’t poorly made, i think it was purposely engineered in that way. after all, it was called a suspension bridge right? after the cable car, we walked around the oriental village. usual tourist stuffs and we quickly make way to the next destination, the seven wells waterfalls.

why is it called the 7 wells? it literally means that the waterfalls stream are naturally broken down into seven pools of water. what’s more magnificent is that, after a long climb of over 600 steps of stairs on a hot sunny day, we were rewarded with an amazing sight plus an absolutely clear cool stream of spring water!

day 3: we wanted to go the 7 wells again to dip into the pool of water, but alas, it was raining when we reached there. climbed the stairs nonetheless, but the water seemed slightly yellowed, probably caused by the rain and some mud got into it. however, we were again rewarded with a scene akin to paradise. imagine the waterfalls, clouded with mist formed by the rain with a bit of sunrays interjecting.

after missing out at the waterfalls, we head back to the resort and quickly walk towards the water sports area on cenang beach. approached a local that seemed honest enough and bargained for some water sports activity! paragliding for 2 (about 3km worth) and jet-ski(about 30 mins out on open sea) for 2 all for RM200! we went for jet-ski first cos the paragliding had several people on the queue. jet-ski was “shiok la”! mc had great fun and the view was totally immersive. on the open sea, travelling fast towards the setting sun. i really wished i had a water proof camera then. when we returned to the beach, paragliding was cancelled due to the weather.. shucks.

day 4: time to move on to kl! well, there’s isn’t much to write about “holidaying” in another bustling city. it’s all about eat, shop, watch movies, rinse and repeat. lol

anyhoo, enjoy the simple photobook below.
