we jus had a change in office environment. from chinatown to liang court.
just some gripes about the new place.
- there’s barely any cheap food around here.
- it’s freaking far from clarke quay mrt
- our seating positions are exposed! we have no privacy, facing the walls, but oh well..
- we have 2 small cabinets to store all our stuffs and it doesn’t come with a lock
- we can’t freaking display anything on our desk and expected to keep them clean and nice all the time
- no restroom in the office space, and the mall’s restroom is like 80steps away from the office entrance
- rainy days are bad cos there’s no shelters to and from liang court
the good?
- kinokuniya is here! with lots of japanese books that can’t be found even in taka’s branch
- plenty of japanese here. how’s that good, you say? well i can practice my listening by “eavesdropping” in their conversation.
- aircon here isn’t as cold compared to the previous place. it’s just nice here =)
anyone knows if there’s any cheap food around here? shucks
finally, the furnitures have arrived! delivery was late for an hour due to causeway jams, but it was still manageable. unpacked the stuffs and assembled the console and coffee table. quickly cleaned the furnitures and moved them into position.
first thing we did was to load up the sound system, tv and wii. setting up of the sound system took some time, but it was well worth it. haven’t get to fully utilise it yet as we’re waiting to get a bluray player.
enjoy the pics! there were more taken, but these were shot using my cam-phone. hence pardon the quality aye?

spent the entire saturday noon preparing a special bday dinner for mc. i did have some reservations about preparing food myself, thinking how it could have turn out inedible and ruin the night. thankfully mc was supportive and we went to get the ingredients together.
menu for the simple 3 course dinner:
starters: chawanmushi
main course: karaage udon & ebi tempura
dessert: tiramisu
lol, didn’t think i could whip up some dishes at all. turns out that the meal was alright!
tiramisu was tasty except i’ve added a wee too much rum into it. good to know that tiramisu is actually quite easy to make. hehe..

more pics in mc’s facebook.
it’s mc’s bday!! may your dreams come true and stay forever young! *wink*
here’s a picture of a cake for you. as for the real cake, i’ve got a whole day to make one for you! =)
happy birthday baby~ *muacks*
そうですね.
it’s that time again. japanese test, this time intermediate 2, mid-term. admittedly, i’ve haven’t been able to properly learn the language on my own time due to house-spring cleaning. thankfully, a group of us in the class started a japanese language study group. some of the pages in the japanese section on this blog are contributed by them!
the house is still lacking furnitures, which will come around end oct. plasma tv is in, and now deciding between bluray player or a media network player. wii on the plasma looks great although i bet ps3 on full hd would definitely own any other consoles.
oh yea, m1 announced they will be selling the iphone soon! seriously hope the pricing would be competitive, and given that m1′s fixed broadband beats starhub and singtel’s plans flat; there’s a good chance their phone and data plans could be cheaper too. *pray* lol
